Has anyone found a Mac replacement for PhraseExpress?

It is a terrific autotext program. I used it extensively with Thunderbird for inserting boilerplate text in my business emails.

I can copy and paste from Word or another text program but that is MUCH slower than PhraseExpress.

I contacted PhraseExpress and they will do a Mac version for $120K. ;D When I win the lottery, . . . But then I can close my business and will not need a PhraseExpress clone. :D

I think I found it. TextExpander seems to be exactly what I was looking for!

Did TextExpander work for you?

I use Direct Access from Nagarsoft which is very similar to PhraseExpress but I am now moving to Mac and need something similar.

I especially like being able to launch a program by typing something like
excel
and it runs MS Excel

or

ff
and it runs firefox.

TextExtender

TextExtender is not as robust as PhraseExpress but works ok.

If you are just using it for short phrases, it should work just fine for you. I have whole letters saved in PE and TE is more awkward to work with for these. Could just be my position on the learning curve. :)

Good luck!
