I'm thinking of getting some ice cream.

Which flavor should I get, chocolate or vanilla?

I voted vanilla.

EDIT: Way to edit my post, jerk. There is just no justice here on Mac-Forms for the mods versus people like me :/

Vanilla. Chocolate Ice Cream is just that, Vanilla you can embellish with sugar candies and not spoil it.

Ahh now if we are adding options, then Ben and Jerry's Fossil Fuel is the one for me.

So this was a little experiment of sorts.
Those who have already posted will notice the thread's title has been changed.

I am no further ahead with my ice cream choice than I was this morning.
If I had left this thread open any longer, the outcome would not have changed.

I got lots of opinions, but the votes were equal.
I even got suggestions that weren't even included in the original poll, only adding to the confusion and making the choice even more difficult.

I could post this exact same thread in another week, month, year or decade... and the outcome would remain the same.

I would be no closer to a decision than I was when I started.

Now, replace "ice cream" with "computer"... and "chocolate or vanilla" with something like: "iMac or MacBook", "MacBook or MacBook Pro", "Mac Pro or iMac" ....etc.
The same can be said about the endless barrage of threads like these. They are no different than the ice cream debate.

Asking it on different weeks, months or years won't change the outcome of the thread.

You will receive countless opinions of others that contradict each other and more often than not, don't get you any closer to a final decision.

In the end, the only one who can make up your mind... is YOU.

Futility of Posting "I hate A or B Threads"

They will never go away, so why bother complaining? It's human nature to ask questions on a forum, especially when one is looking for information on something personal, expensive or both. Get a life.
Regards,
Dave

Never said I hated them, I only pointed out their apparent uselessness.
And the thread was closed for a reason.
