Just curious, do you use your computer for online banking?

Just wanting peoples views on how safe they think online banking is. I don't use online banking yet and am still a little unsure of the safety of doing so. It still seems a little risky to me, what do you think?:D

There is nothing wrong with doing banking online.
I've been doing it for several years now with three different banks... no issues at all.

Welcome to the 21st Century. ;):D

I do, there is nothing to be scared of you just need to know how your router works, and a good strong password.

My wife and I do all our banking and bill pay online. Haven't mailed a check to pay a bill or received paper statements in the mail in years.
Just be sure to be on the safe side and always logout after you're finished. And I've also heard (but don't know if it's true) that it's a good idea to close the web browser window after you logout. Then open a new one to continue doing other internet-related activities.

I access all three of my bank accounts and all of my Credit Card accounts online, including electronic funds transfers and monthly payments. No issues.

Yep. Great way to manage your bank account and credit card!

With regards to safety, I don't have an issue here, but just to make sure no info (passwords, cookies etc) are being stored I always switch on private browsing just be cautious. :)

couldn't operate without on-line banking/savings/bill payments.
I have no intention of standing in a bank queue EVER again!

I've banked online for years....First Union/Wachovia, Bank of America, never had a problem.

One thing you have to realize is that your bank's site is secure: it will encrypt all data that goes back and forth between your computer and theirs when it comes to your accounts. Even if they DIDN'T encrypt it, that's still a stream that's broken up into millions, if not billions, of pieces that have to be properly put together, which even for a hacker intercepting your transmission isn't the easiest thing to do.

Wait, they still have bank tellers? Hmm, so that's what the door next to the ATM must lead to....

Here down under passwords require to be changed every six months and use of VeriSign Identity Protection gizmos is usually compulsory. PayPal also use this device to generate one off security numbers linked to the account.

I've banked online for years without any problems. I've even started trialling Yodlee to manage everything under one roof, which might sound risky to some but so far I haven't had any issues...
