Okay I really want a new Mac, and I mean really. I was supposed to buy one but that is when this decison came in the way. I have the money but the problem is, there is this account thing at my bank where I can make lot's of profit (about double my current balance every year), but for that I'll obviously have to wait. But I can't wait because I'm too tempted. So that is my decision wait and get more, or get something now and don't get more. Should I try to make money somehow? Any ideas? I don't have a job, I'm a young teen (under-age). Thanks. Sorry don't know if this is the right place to post this.

Why not just ask your parents for an advance loan on the Mac and then pay them back when you get more money?

Wow, can you tell us what bank that is? I've never heard of that kind of return without a great degree of risk to the principal.

Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is...

Yeah, share this "account thing" with the rest of us. I'm in for doubling my money in a year.

Like everyone has said or alluded to, there is no way this is true if there is no risk. Have you told your parents about this? No bank would give you this kind of return. This would be a horrible business model.

As such, I am going to refrain from giving you advice until you clear up this fairly obvious scam or misunderstanding.

A smaller amount of interest sounds more like it. It sounds like this "new" plan is a move to a savings account from a chequing account. No banks here in Canada give interest that leads to a doubling of your bank account. If they did, I'd be rich. ;)

As for your original question, get the machine you want and when you want since it is now obvious that you don't have a magical bank account. :p I don't know what this plan is at CIBC but I can't imagine it's a large amount of interest unless it was an investment. If it isn't a large increase in interest, you wouldn't likely be making a lot of money on interest.

Interest is never going to be a way to earn much money because 100% interest doesn't exist. XD

So yes, go get it.

Don't get into the interest loop of wishing for more money, Buy it now because you could die any-day.
Not being scary but nobody knows when their time is up and you must enjoy what you can when you can. (If you have the money, no loan stuff!)

And before you say anything to that, I had a motorcycle crash in Feb 09 because of some idiot driver taking me clean out.

Almost took my life.
