Mac freezes for 1 minute every 10 minutes.

I have a 15 inch macbook pro. I've had it for about 4 weeks or less. I downloaded bittorrent and like 5 cd's onto my mac and now it freezes every 10 minutes for a minute.

Is there any way to get it to stop freezing? I've scanned it with a virus software for mac and nothing came up.

First no virus for Mac. Second maybe try uninstalling whatever you download by bit torrent and see if all returns to normal.
