some files cant see

hi i have had my hd for my windows and now i have made the switch to mac (which was the best thing i have ever done), some of the avi files which i have download will not show on my mac. i know its there but it is just now showing.

is there an setting i need to do or an third party apps i need to download?

please help me its not just one or two its couple hundred.

avi is a windows format so you'll need some additional software.

Specifically

flip4mac ( Windows Media® Components for QuickTime )

perian (Perian - The swiss-army knife of QuickTime® components ) is also a good idea

no not that sorry, i did not explain my self properly. what i meant is that it will not show on the hard drive with the mac, but it will show on my windows computer. (can see the file on windows, but on on the mac)

That's strange. My AVI files show up fine.
