Lightroom lagging

Your Mac's Specs
Macbook 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
I don't know if it is just my macbook or what, but when I launch Lightroom it takes like 5-10 mins to start. I don't have a really old Macbook it is new aluminum one 2ghz with 2gig of ram. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Lightroom in general isn't resource hungry. Lightroom on my MBP takes a 35 seconds to boot on my 2.4Ghz MBP.

Are you backing up you database automatically every time LR starts. This can take some time especially if you have a fairly large library.
