iMovie out of space, what should I do?

I have run out of space on my hard drive because I have been uploading to many videos. I have already replaced the hard drive in my laptop once and I don't want to keep doing that. I was wondering if I could buy an external hard drive and keep my videos there?

If so how do i tell iMovie where there new location is?

Yep, you can buy an external drive for a decent price these days. When you plug the external drive into your laptop (USB or Firewire) the drive will show up on your laptop as another drive. When you go to save files from iMovie or any other application you would just tell the app to save it to the new drive.
