Warranty Questions

I have a MacBook Pro 15.4 inch.

It originally came with 2 GB of RAM.

I bought 4 GB (2x2) Crucial RAM and installed it myself.

Does that void my limited warranty?


I'm traveling overseas in 2 months... I am contemplating whether or not I should buy AppleCare. If I've already voided my limited warranty wouldn't AppleCare be unnecessary?

Installing memory does not void your warranty. As for Apple care, that's a decision you'll have to make.

No, you did not void your warranty by upgrading the memory on your Macbook Pro.

I would highly recommend purchasing AppleCare for your laptop since you move it around so much. A simple repair will recoup the cost for you.

Another question...It's pretty expensive as we all know. Is the Limited Warranty only domestic or is it good world wise?

Where are you living? I believe it is applicable only in your home country, but I'm not sure.
