• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hey,
I am running Mac 10.5.7 and I have Aimersoft Total Media Converter. It works great, but is there a video convertor I can get that does not have Evaluation Copy splashed across the screen and I would also not have to pay for?

I find a good software download website: softdir include DVD Ripper, video Converter and other conversion tools to convert your DVD and video to various video formats. It is really useful. I think good things must be shared with others. I hope it is useful for all of us.

Fetts: converting for any format usually requires you to do a little work. Some software have pre-configured profiles for certain platforms - but with ANY of these converters, you should be able to make an mp4 for a psp. Looking at some other websites that discuss settings for psp, I've found settings of:

video: QVGA(320x240)/29.97fps/1500kbps
audio: Stereo/128kbps

MP4 format/container

to be what you'll probably want to configure the converter for. Handbrake even has a preset configuration for PSP. Mpegstreamclip can be configured to output a compatible file for a psp, as can ffmpegx
