Yeah, things are usually higher in Canada aren't they?

I remember I was in Toronto this passing winter.

Ok I looked it up:

Federal: 20-35%
California State: 1-9.3%
California Sales: 6% + local taxes which in San Diego totals 7.75%

So we're paying a decent amount of taxes, but many things are cheaper here due to those taxes and we pay quite a bit less for car fuel compared to Europe plus overrall I think we pay less taxes.. it's still definitely high though!

eh, yeah. I'm luckily in the sense that I avoided paying taxes, my out of state tuition for school is another thing to be discussed. Hahaha, I'm a little cynical about it, but yeah. My area has some pretty high taxes over all...that is, compared to some places where guys on my floor are from.

In Germany it's 16% on everything except "essentials" which include print-media, food and other similar things...not macs though :)

1 Liter of regular unleaded petrol = €1,15 (Including all tax)

But University is currently free... (Though that'll change soon too!)

yeah when you have free health care, the health care quality goes down for the max. but the minimum quality health care goes up.

In america the worst health care is pretty shotty, but the best is pretty **** good.

In the UK we are Taxed at 17.5% on practically everything. The air is currently free, although I can see that our government might change that yet !

Unlike Germany, Macs are taxed at 17.5%, as is fuel :(
