• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi I made a home video and converted it to mpeg-4. It shows up in iTunes and when I try to sync I get an error message saying that this cannot be played on this iPhone. It is an iPhone 3G with 3.0 software. There is no problem with storage space. Any solutions?

"Convert for iPhone" is not an option I get. Any other suggestions?

It's not there if you right click on the file. You need to click the file then click "Advanced" on the menu bar while in iTunes. There you will see the create "iPod/iPhone version"

Select the file -- File -- Create new version -- Create iPod/iPhone version.

You just responded to a 5 year-old thread...where the OP already received a helpful response (5 years ago).;)
