Sierra Aircard 555

Greetings all,

Has anyone had experience of using an Aircard 555 via their powerbook? I'm UK based but will be spending four months traveling the USA on business this summer, sometimes in remote locations & will need a constant wireless connection. Just wondering how well it works & any hints or tips etc.

Also, when you sign up with Verizon or similar for their wireless data service, is there a minimum term as there is here in the UK? Service providers here usually tie you into a minimum 12 month contract which I'd like to avoid.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help on this...

While I can't voice an opinion on the Aircard (my iBook has an AirPort Extreme card) I can tell you that pretty much any provider is going to require at least a 12 month contract if you sign up for it...or you could just pay the termination fee if you don't want it for 12 months.
