As long as she's using a Mac, ignore it. In any event, most of those ads you see for cleaning your PC of spyware if you download so and so are actually spyware and malware. :Not-Amused:

Regards.

Most of them are also made to look like Windows XP applications. Ask her if it looked like a Windows program that told her she had spyware ;).

She was just on the internet, I'm pretty sure nothing was downloaded. She was just using the internet.

MOST of those sites are just a webpage that does nothing really but try and scare you into purchasing their Spyware product. Even on a PC it means nothing unless it's an application on YOUR machine telling you that you have a Virus or Spyware.

On a Mac it's easy to tell as they usually start scanning your registry, DLL's and .EXE files that OSX does not have nor use.

Hold on. You mean to tell me that the Win Spyware 2009 Cleaner I just downloaded, ran and gave my credit card number to isn't removing anything?! What did I pay 4 installments of $29.99 for? ;)
