How do you work ichat?

I'm confused with how to do anything with ichat. I hear it's supposed to allow you to run all of your chat programs through it, but I'm just not sure how to use it. I have 2 yahoos, an aim, and am planning on skype. Help would be appreciated. Thanks much.

Have you run it and set up your account through the registration with the AIM server?

IChat is a chat client for .Mac (Now Mobile ME), AIM, and will do Google Talk through Jabber. No where does apple claim it works with yahoo or MSN although I have heard people getting at least one of those working using Jabber. It's my default client for AIM. I use Adium for everything else.

Yes, for all the services you listed, you'll need Adium. iChat lets you have all your AIM and MobileMe screen names open at once.
