Hey,

I just installed leopard with a clean install on my white macbook. I wanted to download a movie, but realized osx doesn't come with a torrent app out of the box. Would u guys recommend any application written particularly for mac? I used to use utorrent or bittorrent on my pc, but i want something better :D

Use Transmission. I use that too. Its really very good and works perfectly alright for me. I also used utorrent on PC but since I switched to Mac recently myself, Transmission works good enough for me. Hope that helps :)

I'm not going to make an assumption about what you are doing but if you are downloading a copyrighted movie, you are asking about breaking the law which goes against the rules of the forums (not to mention the law) and as such, you won't get any further help.

For the little bit I use a bit torrent application I always use Vuse that used to be named Azureus.

Remember, Torrents themselves are not against the law, just illegal downloads of movies, software, music, ETC, but some do use BT for legal uses.

Agreed. I use BT for Linux distros because it ends up being much quicker, especially on release days. That said, a response of "enough said" doesn't exactly escape suspicion ;).

Agreed! :D If he would have not made that last statement, I would have never even wondered.

There are even some freeware apps that asked me if I wanted to download via BT.

If you use Opera it has a built in BT client.

Well there are some movies out there that are just out there for people to enjoy. IE parodies, and erotic films >_>""

I keep forgetting all about that BT Client in Opera and it works quite well for any basic use also.

If you like uTorrent, they make a client for OS X. I just got it and it worked quite well to download the ISO for Ubuntu 9.10. I have used Transmission before and it works pretty well too.

the reason i replied with "enough said" was because I didn't want to even hint at doing anything illegal with it and wanted to avoid suspicion; turns out I did the opposite. Anyways, I am using for legal stuff. So, sounds like transmission is the consensus?

Let me guess what you like to do in your spare time :p. (those are copyrighted by the way).

Actually no, I can't against religious beliefs. Well I was getting at amateur films that are put out just to get recognized.

The suggestions so far are Transmission, Vuse, uTorrent. Give them all a try and see which you like the best. That is what I did.
