To boot faster on my MBP (a year and a half old) How to I give it all the memory possible and alter the startup apps?

I'm not sure what you mean by "give it all the memory possible". Do you want to install more RAM or simply take better advantage of all the RAM you already have installed?

As far as start up apps, whatever apps run at start up should either have an option about running at startup that you can de-select, or try right clicking them in the dock and make sure that "open at login" is not selected.
