I thought it would be cool to have a running tally of everything being announced at WWDC today. So, to start, first up is the new 15" MacBook Pro, which now as a *non-removable* battery similar to the 17" model (big UGH!!).

Follow along with me here:

Starts at $1699 (that's good, but still doesn't offset the lack of an ExpressCard slot - did I say UGH??!!!)...now available with 3.06GHz CPU... up to 8GB RAM and 500GB HDD.

ExpressCard slot is GONE, replacing it is an SD card slot (isn't that kind of backwards?).

Seeing as how the vast majority of people used the ExpressCard slot for card readers, I'd have to say it's more along the lines of simplifying things rather than taking a step backward.

I'm not too wild with those whole build in battery concept. Mainly because it prevents access to upgrading components.

Sorry, I prefer choice - like an ESATA card, or a 3G card without having a dongle hanging out of a USB port, when I only have 2 to begin with. Definitely not cool IMO.

Ooh! Price cuts all over the place. This is great!! So, the Alu MacBooks are now just 13" MacBook Pros? Nicely done.

Price drops across the board, especially with the Macbook Air. Looks like SSD prices have dropped significantly since the launch of the MBA

It's about time too... you know my feelings on the MBA. Another $500 and they've got it about right ;)

Haha, hey cwa107, remember a few hours ago when we thought that the Macs wouldn't be at WWDC? Boy were we wrong, what a surprise this was!

iPhone news is coming up now. I have a feeling there won't be too many surprised here, so updates will be a little slower...
