Is it normal to have to wait for Safari to reconnect to the internet when you wake the system up? Is there a way to keep the internet active so it logs on right away?

Be gentle, I'm still trying to find stuff by search before I ask...

By putting your system to sleep, you area pausing all operations. If all operations are paused, the Internet connection can't really "stay awake" if you know what I mean. It only reconfigures itself once you wake the mac. If you aren't leaving your mac for long, you might as well use Exposé's feature: Hot Corners, to put the display to sleep, but absolutely everything else (including Internet Connections) stay active.

Regards.

Interesting. I guess I was confusing sleep with having the system go to the screen saver...I understand now.
Thanks
