For you audiophiles out there, I was wondering what is considered the industry standard for macs and audio. I know the pc was pretty much logic was high end. Is that the case for Mac's as well or is their something better out there?

If you want studio style audio on a mac, or pc come to think of it, you need to go for Digidesign Pro Tools. Its the industry standard, and you can get the cheapest, but still high quality version for around $400 I think. That comes complete with audio interface and bundled plugins. I'm not sure about the price as I'm in the UK, its around £300 here.

I've got the Pro Tools LE Mbox, and the recording quality is amazing. Other than that I would suggest Logic, but I've used both and it doesn't come near Pro Tools.

Actually Logic is only available on mac's now (as of version 7), so I would consider Logic Pro 7 the best choice for music production on the mac.

If you are a Pro Tools fan though, that's also available for macs...
