Youtube and facebook issues .. and mouse symbols

Hi there

I fired up my new macbook pro last night with Safari connected, all went pretty well but i had 2 problems:

1. facebook wouldn't let me upload a new photo to my profile (it just "froze" on the "uploading" screen)

2. thumbnails of youtube videos didn't display on the youtube page.

Any ideas what might be causing this? and any fixes?

Also, does anyone know where i can get a list of what the different mouse waiting symbols are? i know that spinning multicoloured one tells me it's thinking about something, but a blue one came up last night that i don't understand.

is it because the internet speed? or have you tried other browser, like firefox?
