My Mac dealer advises it is the beginning of the end for local suburban Mac dealers as Apple chooses to select direct, making the middle man profit. Reluctantly they have started selling a leading brand of PC in anticipation of Apple not supplying them with new machines.

They will put one on the Gold Coast and not in Brisbane. Sorry Apple but that's a dumb move. More people in Brisbane And more potential Apple users there. The coast is not as popular as it once was.

Anyways I do agree with the comments about this forcing out the little reseller. I don't think Apple is meaning for this to happen but it is just an unfortunate consequence of Apple's world wide expansion.

And to the Original poster, it's the 4th Apple Store is Australia, not Queensland.

Do you really think that billion dollar company do not consider their marketing plan before starting any store. I do not think that they will open their stores without giving a serious thought to this.

Yes I know they've done their research. That's why I'm even more stunned at their choice for the location of the store.
