Let's say I have 3 tabs open: 1 is gmail, 1 is pandora, and one is mac-forumz. If I'm playing music in pandora, and the screen isn't on pandora's and is on another page or tab, the music pauses until I click back on pandora's tab. Anyone have this problem? I'm using safari 4 beta and tiger 10.4.11, but i don't think it has anything to do with versions

Quicktime does the same thing. If you have more than one QT window open, QT will mute the video/song that doesn't have focus. My guess then is that this isn't a bug but a feature.

This is indeed a feature. The application/tab that has focus will be the one you hear.

Note, support for this across applications varies so you may see the behavior in one application and not in another.
