• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I recently bought myself a secondhand Powerbook G4, which I was sad to find did not come with iMovie installed.

I've searched the web, but can't find a version that will work on this computer.

Here's my info:
OS X 10.4.11
867 MHz Power PC G4

Any ideas or advice? I don't need anything fancy, just something that works.

Thanks in advance.

Here are the system requirements for iLife versions before 09. It looks like your best bet is iLife 06.

Thank you for the prompt answer, but it doesn't look like that is going to work. iLife 06 apparently requires that I update my OS from 10.4.11 to 10.4.3... and when I tried that, I was informed that my computer can't handle the upgrade.

You just have to have at least 10.4.3. You don't need to run the exact version. So, 10.4.3 - 10.4.11 all work fine.

10.4.11 is HIGHER than 10.4.3. :p
