Hi folks,
Been a while since I was on here last - I originally joined when I bought an iMac G5 but it ran terrible, needed a new keyboard and I got offered £100 more for it than what I paid which is good.
So I am now making the switch, firstly I'll tell you about what I am switching from to see what I should go for next...
A Dell XPS M1730, Core2Extreme 2.80Ghz, 4GB RAM, BluRay, 2X8800GTX SLI, 400GB Storage.
I've recently sold it to make the switch and got myself £1,800 and visited the Mac store on Saturday to consider what Mac I'll get for myself.
The two that stood out to me are as follows ... 15" Macbook Pro 2.66Ghz, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, Superdrive and then the iMac 24" 3.06Ghz 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD.
If I take the Macbook I will also purchase the wireless mighty mouse.
So, which to go for? I don't really need portability but we have a small desk it will be used on that the laptop will fit on with about 6" spare in depth.
The iMac will cost slightly more - but is it worth it? The increased screen resolution would be handy for using a few things at once but will the Macbook look and hold its value better?
Any views appreciated, I have until next Saturday to decide when I go into the Apple store in Glasgow and walk out with one.
Cheers,
Chris.
