    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.

Hey there,

I have a problem with a dvd that is homemade. I am trying to copy 10mins of it and then burn it onto dvd.

I downloaded Handbrake and ripped it to a m4v format and put it on my desktop. Then I tried to use iMovie to edit out the section I want and burn to dvd.
Once in iMovie I tried to import it. It wouldn't recognize the file-it was grey and I couldn't selected it.
I have been able to get the material to play in QuickTime

Anyone got any advice. Am new to Mac and aren't really up to speed with this aspect of computing.

Cheers guys
