This is in response to the 'Saddest Song' thread and the "most beautuful song" thread. Here is just to share with everyone what music or songs in particular you think are weird, strange, oddball or just plain out there.

*****************

And for me one tops my list of weirdest songs of all time.

Pancreas - Weird Al Yankovic.
Do you love your pancreas? Al does and wrote a 3 minute song about it. And the video for it is just as strange.

2nd on the list though is:

I Don't Like Dancin - Scissor Sisters.
This the song the especially the video. I don't really get what that they are all about it. I don't think many others do either.

none of that is even close... ;)
well, bjork does have some odd stuff, but it's mostly really good.

listen to mz412, merzbow, black lung, the mentors, squarepusher, some of jimi tenor's stuff, lull, vampire rodents... a lot of that stuff will blow your mind

Anything by Bjork.

My friend dragged me to a concert of Björks, I agree. Fortunately, M.I.A. was the opening act, they made the concert worth it for me. I've been a fan of them ever since.

Cake! I love them to death, but I must admit they're pretty weird. They're lyrics don't make a lot of sense half the time.

Modern music is scary sometimes- although it can be really good (see Philip Glass). Strange music is definitely Steve Reich- if you like listening to piano phasing for 18 minutes or so (long enough to have a persont thinking they're hearing voices) then you'd like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW4_8KjmzZk&feature=related

A lot of Ulver, or John Cage (whom Garm from Ulver loves).

4'33" of silence... we could start a pretty lengthy argument about whether or not this is an actual piece of music!

hmm, i can think of a lot of "popular" music i'd like to listen to less than that silence.

I've heard a guy named Tom Waits a few times. Seemed pretty weird to me.

I'd go with no, not an actual piece of music. More of an artistic statement under the pretense of music as a medium.

I meant Philip Glass though. Einstein on the Beach. Mmm delicious.
