I have 2 minor irritations with my Bluetoothed might mouse connected to a 28inch Imac.
a) It eats batteries at a scary rate, I would guess I have to replace the Duracells about every 6 weeks. This seems pretty high use. I have a bluetooth keyboard and the batteries in that seem to last forever.

b) The little tracking ball on the top seems to have stopped working, but I can see no user way of cleaning or anything else. Any suggestions as it was a handy thing to have
TIA

Track ball - put a small dollop of keyboard cleaner on top and then vigorously rub the mouse upsidedown on a piece of paper.

Try Energizer Lithium batteries.

Using 4 hours per day average ten weeks for mouse and months and months and months for keyboard. And never ever consider the rechargeables.
