    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.

I have been using iDVD to make some movies from some .avi files I have. But a lot of them the voice does not match up with the picture. I am using iDVD 7.0.3 and all the files are .avi. I use the best performace encoding, after the asset is done I then burn the dvd. Are there any tips or trick to get this to work better?

Thanks,

Anyone have any ideas? is it something to do with the .avi's? Does doing other things on the computer while it is converting or burning cause issues?

I would try converting the AVI file to a QuickTime format. Perhaps use AIC (Apple Intermediate Codec) as the codec.

I haven't tracked it, but it seems to me that people have several issues when using AVI files with their Mac software.

I tried downloading the Apple Intermediate Codec, but it told me I already had a new version on my computer. I guess I may have to just break down and pay for QuickTime PRO. That way I can try to convert the .ave files to something else. I only seem to have trouble with maybe 1 in 5 .avi's. I do not know if maybe the way they were recorded makes a difference or what.

Anyone one know of anything thing else to do (preferable for free!_

ffmpegX perhaps.

iMovie. If it can read and play the file properly, perhaps you can just do a direct QuickTime export.

By they way, I didn't suggest you download AIC. As you found out, you already have it.
