• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I have Toast and it does everything I need it to do. It converts automatically to a DVD compatible format and for a tech-impaired person like myself, this is well worth the money!

Just beware -- there doesn't seem to be any burning software that allows you to specify your chapters manually, unlike, say, Nero on the PC. You either have to let Toast or iDVD put 'em in automatically, or import the movie into iMovie and put the chapter markers in that way, export the movie out, then burn it in Toast, iDVD, etc.

Rapidshare is a haven for pirated material.

We choose to follow United States law in regard to what is permissible to be discussed here. Therefore discussion of illegal file sharing, cracked programs, requests for serial numbers, and any other breaches of copyright or other illegal activity are not allowed in these forums. This also includes discussion of breaking the terms of software or hardware EULAs.
