• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi!

At my university I managed to pick up an old G4 Mac power PC model number M5183, Its running Final Cut 3 and has a 50 gig hard drive, and 2 gig of Ram.

The operating system is only OSX 2.8 though!

I need to know what I can upgrade to ie OS X .3 or OSX.4?

And If I do will it wipe off the final cut program installed? As I don't have any of the boot up discs!

Many thanks for your time.

Your Mac's Specs
MacBook Pro (late 2008), OS 10.6.2, FCE 4.0.1, CS 1
As far as I know, ya gotta buy 'em. Installation, though, should not affect FCE
