• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hey everyone
I've run into a wall here trying to burn several video files to DVD so I could watch them on the television. Some are VOB and others are AVI. A friend gave me a disk with Toast 9 on it and it's doing something bizarre: When I drag and drop my files I want to burn it seems to register to be much larger of a file than it is for example; a segment of a concert is 1 GB, when I try to burn using Toast it shows as 10 GB. I've fiddled with the quality setting and it made no difference. Right now I'm thinking it might have something to do with the fact that the Toast I have is a bootleg copy, so I'm thinking of buying Toast 10.

Did anyone encounter similar problems? Is Toast 10 worth buying?

Buying it would be a very good idea - especially considering the recent phenomenon of trojans being bundled in with pirated copies of Mac software.

Regardless, this forum does not condone or allow discussion of illegal activity, so we're going to lock this thread up now.
