Dear Mac Users
I just picked up a brand new Mac G4 MDD from the garbage at work.
It is really heavy, well built (they all are?) and quiet (maybe a later model?).
It says it is OS X, so I guess it is not an early G4.
A light rain had fallen upon it but the interior was bone dry.
I know the guy that dumped it and he said he had never used it.
And lo, powering up I find that I get the welcome screen and the
start of the registration procedure.
I may be able to get the disks and attached serial numbers etc from
the guy that dumped it but I may not.
I don't have a keyboard or a Mac mouse otherwise I would procede with the set up.
My questions are:
What do I need to use this machine?
Do I need a serial number to use it?
How can I tell how quick it is (MHz, Number of processors) i.e.
what type/build of G4 it is without powering up?
Are people still using their G4 MDD's?
For my sins I am a PC user. I will say this for it, in terms of build quality, it makes my PC's seem cheap.
Tim
