Print Screen a terminal error?

I have the new MacBook Aluminum .. but how do I print Screen????? I thought mac was supposed to be easier and I am finding that it is not more simple..

I got this defaults write com.apple.screencapture type image_format
killall SystemUIServer
from one of the pages on the forum but I want to undo it now too ............

Thanks but now that i have altered some script in the terminal it is not working.

Unless you just HAVE to use Terminal, you can change the screenshot type with Tinkertool: Download TinkerTool for Mac - Customize many aspects of OS X. MacUpdate Mac Desktop Software Downloads

Open Terminal, paste this in there.. and you should be able to do screenshots again.

defaults write com.apple.screencapture type png && killall SystemUIServer

that'll set it to png, this will set it to jpg.

defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg && killall SystemUIServer

if you just put image_format you've broken screenshots that way. important thing with doing anything command line, if you don't understand what you're doing fully.. stop.

I would recommend a third party screen capture app. My personal favorite is Jing. But Skitch is pretty sweet too.
