Mail inbox

Can anyone please enlighten me as to the significance of some Mail inbox messages being in normal type, and others being in a faded out light font.

It does not appear to be the difference between read and unread messages as the dots to the left hand side of the message indicate this.

I cannot seem to find any reference to this elsewhere.

i think that they are messages that it thinks are junk. If a particular message is not junk then click 'Not Junk' on the toolbar and it will change to normal and vice verse.
