classic 9.2

whenever i try to open a classic app, the classis window opens and it starts to boot up 9.2 but then a message says

"The system software on the startup disk only functions on the original media, not if copied to another drive."

then there is a restart classic button. when it restarts it just does the same thing. ????

How did you install OS 9? Did you just drag a system folder from a CD? It needs to be installed.
Also, when you originally installed X, did you install the hard disk drivers for classic?
(when formatting the drive)
