best sound editing software?

I'm a former PC user. I used to use cooledit. Great program, what should i use to mix and create some great mp3's/CDs with a mac? I'm sure there are a whole bunch of apps out there... what's the best in your opinion?

For an inexpensive audio editor (about $25) that has lots of features and functions i have been using Amadeus Pro. Does a great job for most people, have been using it for about the last 4 years to do a podcast with, both recording and editing. I am up to podcast 228 now. Well worth the download to check it out.
