I tried to install AE software on a PC which met all the requirements. At one point I did not have my DSL PPPoE password. I uninstalled the software. With repeated attempts I could never get back to the point where I needed the DSL PPPoE password. Any suggestions? I appreciate any help you can give!

Well, I use an Airport Extreme successfully on a mac. I can't really help, other than saying to try the install again. Could you say what specifically is going wrong to prevent the install from completing?
