Howdy! How many of us here are musicians? I was thinking it'd be interesting to try something. Someone could record themselves on their instrument, send it to another member who could add a part to it... send that to another... know what I mean? Kinda off the wall, but interesting, eh? :D

I've been a musician for 20 years :)

Mainly I play guitar now, when I get the chance.

Emrys, you've been a musician as long as I've been a person!

I play bass. I've got a guitar, but I can't make it sound like anything but a thin, off-key bass. I play my guitar quite a bit, too, so it's not like I'm not practicing. It just... I sound like a bassist who has no instrument of his own, so he borrows his friend's guitar, or something. :sealed:

I've got Pro-Tools and a medium-sized mixing board, cuz my dad prefers my brother being interested in music and sound engineering over weed and some of the friends he brings home. :)

Can you convert that to mp3? I'am at work and can't make use of .m4a right now, and I don't want to search out the net for an app that will do something as simple as play an audio file made on a Mac machine, on a windows machine. If you get my drift :)

I use soundstudio and of course like to many sound apps they convert it only to .aiff or other useless extensions :D.. so I just use iTunes and convert it in there. Its a little slow, but it works.

To the original poster; that's a pretty cool idea. We have an ad by Telecom over here featuring all the famous local bands/singers/rappers doing just that, over broadband. 80% of the computers are macs, although I'm not sure what program they're running, possibly logic (I'm a classical musician, so I don't know much about recording and all that).

I play piano :)
