ok maybe I am stupid so please forgive me.

I got a Maxtor central axis network storage server, but it didnt do what I wanted it to . so I deleted the apps associated with it. now every so often I get a error message that it cant connect to it. (duh I unplug it!) how can I stop my Macbook from searching for it?

I'm confused how you connected to it, did it act as a computer? or did you add the disk to startup items under Accounts?

it was a wireless network drive that my Macbok could access via our wireless network.it showed on the sidebar as a share computer not as a drive ( it had the same icon as my roomates Macbook)

my best bet is that it was added to your login items (Sys Prefs>Accounts>your account>Login Items at the top)

you might have it as a favorite server when in Finder you click Go>Connect to server in the window that shows, but I think favorites automounted only on older systems

good luck to solving your problem though!
