I imported my digital photos in to iPhoto to begin the arduous processing of weeding through 5 years of shooting.

About 35GB (PC) turned in to 150GB on the mac.

So... my brand new MBPro with its 320GB drive is already pretty much totally full. Doh.

Ideas?

Well yeah. Looking at a WD My Passport Studio 500GB now. I will use 320 for a Time Machine drive and the other 180 for images. Audio work will have to live on the primary... though I am not sure then if I can get Vista etc. on there.

I am surprised I am needing so much drive space. Is this normal for Mac when coming from PC?

Or... did I torrent myself in to some weird nightmare?

You sure you don't have dups?

Probably some but so far havent found them and I am 10% done with culling the herd down.

How can I find and kill dupes?

I do have Aperture as well...

My cousin bought Aperture and clicked the wrong option on installation and rather than referencing to iPhoto it copied each picture.
