can I run two external laCie drives on a G5?

Greeting from a newbee.

That's my question.

Second question is that I booted up today and my current LaCie was not recognized and I now have a blinking blue light on the unit. Did two hours on the net searching for answers and got everything under the sun.

Running multiple external hard drives is not a problem. Can't be much help with the other issue.
