I have a MacBook pro and a visioneer 7300 one touch usb scanner. I am trying to figure out how to get this scanner to work. I connected it and checked the system profiler. It shows up there:

1200dpi USB Scanner:

Product ID: 0x0444
Vendor ID: 0x04a7 (Visioneer)
Version: 5.01
Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
Location ID: 0x1d100000
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 500

But I tried to scan in both PS CS4 and VueScan and it says there is no scanner attached to the system.

I am VERY new to MAC. So I dont know if I need any drivers or special software etc...

Any help would be appreciated.

First thing to do is look on the Visioneer website to see if there are drivers for your mac. In the past, Visioneer said they did not and would not support macs, but thay may have changed. If there are drivers on the website, download them and see what happens. If not, you are probably going to have to buy a different scanner.
