Yeah, I don't like Cubase that much either but my college uses it, so unfortunately I have to.

I much prefere Logic, and also the synths that come with Logic are far better!

More of a Pro Tools user ;)
And with the better MIDI programming in Pro Tools 8, I think it leaves Cubase standing.
