Whenever I use an app that I downloaded it always mounts it and when its done I need to eject it.

Why is this happening? Did I download it wrong? What I do is:

1. Download off of site
2. Open .dmg file
3. Agree to whatever
4. Drag it into the application folder
5. Close the window that shows the app and the application folder together
6. Go into Applications folder and click on it. It has like a no smoking cross on it.
7. Open it.
8. When done, eject.

It shouldn't matter, but you can try:

5b. Close (eject) the .dmg that is still sitting on the desktop.

Make sure you are not dragging a .pkg file into the app folder. Those will auto install, just double click it, no dragging required. Only drag apps that provide the icon of the app after opening the .dmg file.

If that doesn't do it, how 'bout a picture of one of these apps with the cross through it.

...and when you drag it to the App folder, you drag the icon from inside the open window, not the icon on your desktop.

Yeah it's no biggie, that happens with most apps
