I have a airport extreme and i love it. I am about to buy a usb external HDD.

Does it matter what format it is in, FAT32 or NTSC?

Can i share it with both a mac and pc?

For easy sharing a drive between a PC and Mac use FAT-32. But keep in mind that FAT-32 is limited to a single file size of 4 Gb. If you plan on saving files that are larger than 4 Gb use NTFS. However, in order for a Mac to read and write to NTFS you'll need third party software like the Paragon NTFS driver.

Paragon NTFS for MAC OS X - full read and write access to Windows NTFS partitions under Mac OS X

Regards.

Thank you for the program

I currently have the external HDD to FAT32. I have put files on it from my mac and i can open them fine on my pc. But when i put on files from my PC, i cannot see them on my mac (they are mp3's and some pictures).

Am i doing something wrong here?

edit: ok, when i search for the file i can find it in the finder, but it is not visable? anything wrong there?
