I have recently decided to upgrade my iMac to Leopard in order to use Bootcamp with Windows XP. I'm not very familiar with the whole dual boot thing, and I was wondering whether I will be able to run Source engine games (more specifically Left 4 Dead and Counter Strike: Source) on my iMac. Searching the web produced a few somewhat unhelpful comments about running aforementioned games. I'm not looking for super performance, just a bearable framerate and graphics, enough to make the games playable.
My Mac:
2.16 GHz IntelCore 2 Duo
2 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM
ATI Radeon x1600 256 MB
Left 4 Dead Reqs:
Minimum:
Supported OS: Microsoft Windows XP / Vista / Vista64
Processor: Pentium 4 3.0GHz
Memory: 1 GB
Graphics: 128 MB, Shader model 2.0, ATI 9600, NVidia 6600 or better
Hard Drive: At least 7.5 GB of free space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
Recommended:
Supported OS: Microsoft Windows XP / Vista / Vista64
Processor: Intel core 2 duo 2.4GHz
Memory: 1 GB
Graphics: Shader model 3.0, NVidia 7600, ATI X1600 or better
Any help, including vague speculation, would be appreciated. Thanks.
