Configuring Macbook

I just took delivery of my new macbook

Im trying to figure it out and am expecting a little transitional time... So I might be asking a few questions in the near future

1st question

How do I make the dashboard know that Im not in Cupertino Ca... I cant figure out how to change location

Also as a newbie to mac OS where shuod I go to get my learn on???

I learnt most things about my Mac through playing with it, and when I did summat I didn't understand I asked on here, and the lovely Mac forumers helped to sort it!

most apps on the dashboard have thier own configurations. on most apps, there is an "i" symbol that you can click to access that app's configuration.
