I am a recent buyer of Macs but still have some Windows machines.
I would like my photos to be usable across both environments.
I have a particular folder structure across various machines that the family use on different machines, where each of us can import our photos and they are synched across different machines.
So the photo software I use needs to pick up changes in folders it's aware of.
Also for my 20,000 photos I have invested significant time in putting tags onto my photos. I've used Vista's Photo Gallery, which stores tags in XMP in the photo files themselves. iPhoto can't cope with the tags, I'm wondering if Aperture does?
So two questions:
1 can I configure Aperture to use my folder structure (and in doing so pick up new photos appearing in that structure, or edits made outside of Aperture to photos in the structure)
2 will Aperture "read" the tags that I have put into all my photos using Vista's Photo Gallery?
