itunes titles all wrong

the (id3?) tags for my songs in itunes are all wrong, i noticed that the iphone has an app to figure out the real name artist and album from just how the song sounds, is it possible to get the same kinda thing for my laptop? so that itunes can just sort out the tags itself.

In the menu bar at the top of the screen, click on Advanced and select Get CD Track Names. See if that works.

For the most part you have to manually fix the tags either in iTunes or with an App like MediaRage. Always fix the tags before you add songs to iTunes unless you are ripping directly from a CD with iTunes. I just bulk tagged over 9,000 new songs for my collection, and none of them are in iTunes yet. I still have about 4000 to go.
